Be A Johnson Girl

In the 1940s, 50s and 60s there was a certain loyalty to the business you worked for.  Many women who worked for retail companies such as the above 1964 want ad referred to themselves as being a Johnson girl, or in most local cases it was a Benjamin girl, or a Hess Apparel Girl or an English Grill girl.

No doubt the concept of a woman who is old enough to work being referred to as a girl would offend someone today.
