Oral Will of William Thompson - Recorded 29 January 1750
Be it Remembered that Robert Ardis of the
County aforesaid Aged forty Seven Years and Upwards and John Taylor Aged thirty
Nine years and Upwards being Severally Sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty
God Severally Declare that William Thompson lately Deceased in the time of his
Sickness of which he dy'd and before his Death Spoke and pronounced in the
hearing of these Deponents these words following as his will Concerning his
Estate (to wit) I desire my sister Mary Thompson may have all I have after my
Death And these Deponents also do & Severally Swear that the said William
Thompson at the time of his Speaking & Pronouncing the said words was of
sound and Disposing memory and understanding as these Deponents verily believe
and then did apprehend and at the time when he So spoke and pronounced the said
words he desired the said Deponents to take Notice of And that Such was his will
Sworn before me January the 12th 1750. -

The within Noncupative Will
of William Thompson Deceased was Exhibited in Court by George Douglas who taking
the Oath And giving George Holden for his Security Certificate is granted him
for Obtaining Letters of Administration on the said Decedent's Estate with his
Will annexed
