Old Christ Church October Event

A musical treat on the shores of Chipman's Pond Last October, 2012, Dr. Jeffrey Schoyen performed a solo cello concert at Old Christ Church which was both majestic and intimate. Dr. Schoyen's "unplugged" sound was uniquely suited to the Old Christ Church venue; each piece was accompanied by a short explanation which helped the audience better appreciate the music. Although the program ranged from Baroque to 20th century, the 240 year old acoustics of Old Christ Church enhanced the whole. This year, on October 5, 2013, at 4 p.m. Dr. Schoyen, cello, and his wife, Dr. Sachiho Murasugi, violin, will both perform. Dr. Schoyen and Dr. Murasugi are Salisbury University faculty members who have performed widely as orchestral and chamber musicians. Their programs for this concert have not yet been set, but they are sure to be memorable. Although the concert is free and open to the public, there will be a voluntary offering taken for the benefit of the preservation and restoration of Old Christ Church. Questions? Call (302) 875-3644. We look forward to seeing you on October 5th!
