The Maryland Cavaliers
Stan Hastings had a popular
orchestra called “The Maryland Cavaliers”.
The musicians varied but mainly included Virgil
Toadvine, Clay Sterling, Raymond Smith,
Bill Ross, and June Tingle, vocalist. The
band was popular in 1939 and up till 1942 when Stan joined the Navy. Stanley
LeRoy Hastings, Jr (1920-1979) was the son of Stanley Leroy Hastings Sr and Helen
Marguerite Blades Hastings. He would marry in 1947 to Dorothy Wetzel. They would
have a daughter Lynda Lea Hastings.
