Clyde Hastings 1899

A gloom was cast over the home of Mr. and Mrs Theo. H. Hastings Sunday morning by the death of their little son Clyde.  The funeral was preached by Elder A. B. Francis Monday afternoon.

Above from the Salisbury Advertiser – Delmar News August 12, 1899

Clyde was the first born for Theodore and Maud Hasting who had been married in 1898.  Theodore H Hastings was the son of Levin Hastings (who owned half of Delmar.)  Theodore's brother was Chuancy Hastings.  Theodore's wife was Maud Helen Ellis and they would have three other children; Mildred, Theodore, and Robert.  More about Mildred in the future.  Theodore was a storekeeper on the corner of Railroad Ave and Grove street, plus real estate he inherited from his father.
