Richard Hastings, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hastings of Delmar has been notified of his appointment to enter the Naval Academy at Annapolis in July. Hastings was graduated with high honors from the Delaware high school of Delmar in the class of 1928. He immediately enlisted in the Navy and was stationed at the Navy Training Base in Newport, R. I.
After being there for five months he was transferred to the Navy Training School in Hampton Roads, Va. In April he took his examination. He has been notified that he received highest awards and the principal appointment to Annapolis.
