In 1968 the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) and the New York Central Railroad (NYC) merged producing Penn Central (PC).  The old Tuscan Red Caboose or cabin Cars were known for the colors fading so the merger selected the N Y Central colors of Green to be used on Box cars and cabooses. The familiar keystone logo with PRR in it went away.
