Blackface and Minstrel Shows

The Minstrel Show - a standard entertainment show for white high schools on Delmarva up until the schools were integrated.  Above is the 1944 minstrel show that the Maryland Delmar High School put on.  The Blackface students (Maurice Hurley, Jack adkins, Arthur Lecates and Paul Dutton) were referred to as endmen and they had a fairly standard routine they performed. There would be a white Interloculor who was the straightman and then the endmen or cornermen who would sing, dance and tell jokes, at least one would be named Mr Bones.

Not only schools but almost every organization did minstrel shows.

You can't change history,  you can judge it  by the current moral standards of today but you will never change it.
