Thomas Worthington Murphy (1890-1966) was a popular band leader in the 1920s thru the 1940s. He worked during the day for the city of Baltimore and at night directed the band. He made a number of trips to the Eastern shore playing in Salisbury and Ocean City. He lived in Baltimore and played on a number of radio stations besides being the Hotel Belvedere band.
He married Mary Madeline Callis (1895-1956) in 1918 and they had for children Charlotte Elizabeth Murphy (1919-2001), June Mary Murphy (1920-2004), and Catherine Edith Murphy (1922-1988).
