A few years back (2000) there was a rage for chicken and waffle dinners. They are not a recent enjoyment as shown by this 1932 article for a Moose lodge Chicken and waffle supper. It seems Pennsylvania was the home of the meal as there are many advertisements for it in the Pennsylvania newspapers at the turn of the 20th century for church and organization suppers that featured this meal.
